The Premier League has today announced a fine of £10.75m for Chelsea following an investigation into historic secret payments.
The financial irregularities occurred between 2011 and 2018 during the ownership of Roman Abramovich.
In addition to the monetary penalty the club has been handed a one year transfer ban which remains suspended for two years.
This leniency is largely due to the proactive self reporting by the current American owners who discovered the discrepancies during their due diligence process in 2022.
The league also imposed an immediate nine month academy transfer ban relating to youth player registrations between 2019 and 2022.
Chelsea officials stated they accept the settlement in full and are pleased the matter is now resolved.
The club has worked closely with the FA and UEFA to ensure all historical reporting issues are addressed as they look to build a more transparent future under their new leadership structure.
