'Wisdom teeth have left the chat' - Mason Mount posts hilarious video after dental surgery

Having infected wisdom teeth sounds pretty painful, doesn't it?

One person who knows all about it is Mason Mount. The Chelsea midfielder initially missed his side's recent win over Newcastle due to an unspecified illness which manager Thomas Tuchel claimed wasn't Covid-19 related.

He returned to the pitch for a brief cameo in the 1-1 draw with Burnley, but a video Mount has posted online has put his participation in England's upcoming World Cup qualifiers in slight doubt.

Much has been written about Gareth Southgate's admiration for Mount, the teacher's pet jokes have been made and all that, but not even the waistcoat wearing manager would consider the 22-year-old for selection after seeing the below video, posted with the caption: "Wisdom teeth have left the chat."

Mount has undergone the dental surgery that has delayed his participation with the England squad, and he looked like he was having a whale of a time on the way back from the operation.

Appearing to be under anaesthetic, the midfielder came out with a number of golden lines.

He claimed “If I got punched now I wouldn’t even feel it” and added he was "half human half great white...by the size of these gnashers". When asked what he thought he looked like, Mount quipped: "I feel like...I feel as good as ever. I still look as good as ever."

He also gave a shoutout to the doctors who took care of him, describing them as "G.O.A.Ts". The whole video is on his TikTok account and it is content everybody needs to sample. It's very 'David After Dentist', if that is still a legitimate reference in 2021.

The only problem is, does Mount look like he's ready to drop between the lines, lead England's press or whip a free kick into the top corner? No. No, he does not.

The Three Lions are monitoring his recovery, with the clash with Albania on Friday almost certain to come around too quickly. A more realistic return to action may be the trip to San Marino next week.
