'We don't need Cole,' says JT

John Terry has come to the defence (ho, ho) of Wayne Bridge in the Colgate scandal.

Terry, has gone on record to state that, in his opinion, Chelsea do not need to buy Ashley Cole from Arsenal as they already have Wayne Bridge.

JT is reported to have said: "Bridge is a first-class player, one of the best left-backs in the world so why do we need to go out and do that?

"Ashley's a great player, I'm not denying that.

"But I think if you speak to Ashley, he's Arsenal through and through.

"It is the same with me, I don't want to ever leave Chelsea.

"It's all about opinions. I'm not Sven-Goran Eriksson's first-choice. If Mr Mourinho had the chance to buy Sol Campbell or Rio Ferdinand, would he? I don't know, you'd have to ask him that."

It's refreshing to hear JT speak out like this as the normally Stalinist regime at Chelsea like to censor public comments about the club.

They will not look favourably on JT's word about Colegate, especially as an inquiry is on-going into the 'scandal'.

Last season Terry came to the defence of his then manager Claudio Ranieri stating that Chelsea should leave the Spaniard in charge and not replace him.

It was nice to see Chelsea take notice of their skipper - I'm sure the same will be the case in Cole's case.
