Villas-Boas: We were great

Quite what game Andre Villas-Boas was watching is any bodies guess, but it wasn't what most Chelsea fans saw after his team drew 0-0 against Norwich City.

"We created enough chances to win the game, " he said.

"Itwas even in the first half but we dominated the second.

"But we could not find the back of the net.

"The players were great, fantastic and fought hard to get the winning goal.

"It' s not a bad point, but to be champions it puts everything into perspective."

Speaking labour misfiring Fernando Torres, he said: "He tried hard and was effective.

He was sharp and tried to get a goal. He was praised for his performance in the last game,he had a good chance to score. "I took him off because I felt that Lukaku could create more behind their defence, and would be sharper with his movement." Villa-Boas conceded that the title is now beyond his charges.

"It would have been a good opportunity, a last chance to fight for the title, but Man city and United have a good margin ahead of us. We are not in the title hunt, we don't have the consistency.

"But I am very confident that we will finish at least fourth in the league and qualify for the Champions League.

"I am not looking below, but Liverpool and Arsenal will still have a say."

Asked why new signing Gary Cahill was not even in the squad, Villas-Boas said: "It takes time for people to assimilate into the way our defence works, but he is in contention for the FA Cup match against QPR next week.

"Ialso had Branislav Ivanovic back from injury and could call on his versatility."
