Thomas Tuchel & Pep Guardiola among nominees for The Best FIFA Men's Coach

Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel and Man City boss Pep Guardiola have both been nominated for The Best FIFA Men's Coach 2021.

Both men enjoyed a terrific calendar year, leading their sides to the Champions League final.

Although Tuchel came out on top in that game, with Chelsea securing a 1-0 victory courtesy of a Kai Havertz goal, City would have the last laugh domestically, securing a Premier League and Carabao Cup double.

Rounding off the three-person list for the men's award this year is Italy head coach Roberto Mancini. Mancini took over with the Azzurri in dire straits, but managed to guide them to Euro 2020 glory in the summer.

It has not all been good news for Mancini this year though, with Italy also failing to automatically qualify for the 2022 World Cup. Their fate will instead be decided via a tough playoff meeting against Portugal later this year.

On the women's side, Chelsea's Emma Hayes caps off another strong 2021- humbling Champions League final defeat aside - with a nomination.

The man who inflicted that crushing loss, Barcelona boss Lluis Cortes, is also nominated and will be favourite for the gong thanks to his side's near-perfect 12-months.

The final coach honoured is Sarina Wiegman. Wiegman began the year as Netherlands manager before moving onto take charge of England, who she has guided to a string of historic victories in World Cup qualifying.

The winner of each award will be decided by an international jury, comprising the current coaches of all women’s/men’s national teams (one per team), the current captains of all women’s/men’s national teams (one per team), one specialist journalist from each territory represented by a national team and fans registered on FIFA.com.

The results will be announced at an award ceremony on 17 January.
