The teams with the biggest budgets on Football Manager 2022

Money is a little tighter in Football Manager 2022 than in previous years, but there are still plenty of sides with a good sum of money in the bank.

If you're looking for a complete rebuild, a wonderkid haul or a squad of superstars, you'll likely need to take control of one of the richer sides on the game, and there are some intriguing options to choose between.

Here are the 11 sides with the biggest transfer budgets on FM22.

11. Dinamo Moscow - £21.4m

Russian giants Dinamo Moscow are blessed with a mighty budget of £21.4m to start the game.

To boost their appeal, Dinamo also boast plenty of valuable youngsters, including Arsen Zakharyan, Nikola Moro and Sebastian Szymanski, so you shouldn't need to spend big on any wonderkids.

Convincing some big names to head to Russia might be a bit tricky, but that's all part of the fun.

10. A. Bilbao - £21.4m

Athletic might force you to confirm by some tricky transfer rules, but at least they're prepared to give you a decent sum of money to do so.

Famously, the club will only allow you to sign players from Basque Country, so there's obviously a finite number of ways in which you can spend that £21.4m.

Instead of spending that money, you could try giving talented youngsters like Nico Williams (brother of Inaki) a permanent starting spot. A few years down the line, you won't regret it.

9. Bayern Munich - £25.7m

For a club of their size, Bayern don't often splash the cash too much, and they'll give you a modest £25.7m to start things off.

That's not much of a problem as there isn't really anything you could do to improve their squad, and if you want to sell anybody to replace them, you'll bring in a tidy sum of money that way.

You do, however, need to get Robert Lewandowski tied down to a new contract, because there's a good chance he'll try jump ship after 12 months, and you won't have the money for a like-for-like replacement.

8. Ajax - £29.9m

Ajax are always fun to manage as their elite youth academy produces wonderkid after wonderkid, but now, they're also blessed with some financial muscle.

You can spend your £29.9m bolstering the first team or snapping up some high-potential youngsters. Either way, it's going to be fun.

If you ever need a top-up, there are so many valuable superstars in the squad that you could flip without even really trying.

7. Manchester UFC - £30m

After a summer of heavy spending, United's transfer budget sits at 'just' £30m.

Fortunately, you've already got Jadon Sancho, Raphael Varane and this striker by the name of Cristiano Ronaldo who is supposedly pretty decent.

There's still enough left in the bank for one more big deal, and you could add even more if you manage to shift some of the deadwood at the club.

6. Shakhtar Donetsk - £34.2m

Over in Ukraine, you'll find Shakhtar Donetsk laughing their way to the bank with a cool £34.2m.

Your best bet is to go hunting for future superstars available at cheap prices, because that's what has been working for Shakhtar for years now.

The likes of Tete, Manor Solomon, Dodo and Marcos Antonio can all be sold for big sums if you want to, but you'd be better off keeping them together and watching their values skyrocket.

5. PSG - £38.5m

£38.5m seems fairly small for a team of Paris Saint-Germain's vast wealth, but realistically, there's no way to improve their current squad anyway.

With one of the deepest, star-filled squads around, PSG only require some minor touches, but their biggest priority is convincing Kylian Mbappe to stick around.

He'll likely consider his options pretty quickly, so if you're not going to take the risk of losing him for free, cash in now and watch your bank balance soar.

4. Chelsea - £40m

There's still enough left in the bank for Chelsea to bring in another superstar, but figuring out which position needs bolstering might be a tricky task.

The Blues brought in Romelu Lukaku during the summer and have some of the scariest squad depth around, so you may need to get creative with ways to use your £40m budget.

There are also still quite a few fringe players kicking around at the club, so you can try sell them to add to your budget if you want.

3. R. Madrid - £51.3m

Having barely spent any money over the past few years, Real Madrid have saved up one of the biggest transfer budgets around, £51.3m.

With Mbappe possibly available on a free, you can focus on spending that money elsewhere, such as in defence or on some more young midfielders to replace the ageing duo of Toni Kroos and Luka Modric.

You won't struggle to convince players to make the move, so you've pretty much got a blank slate when it comes to transfers.

2. Manchester City - £100m

A huge jump up here as Manchester City are laughing with a cool £100m in the transfer war chest.

They failed to sign Harry Kane during the summer and still have that money kicking about in FM22. You'd be wise to take City's real-life advice and look for a striker.

With £100m to play with, the world's your oyster.

1. Newcastle United - £200m

The richest club on the planet, Newcastle come with an absolutely colossal £200m to spend on new transfers to usher in the new era at St. James' Park.

You might not be able to convince any major superstars to make the switch - Newcastle haven't got the greatest reputation right now - but there are plenty of top talents ready to listen to your proposals.

Younger stars with their best years still ahead of them might be the way forward here, and you'll have a squad full of superstars soon enough.
