The best FPL players picks for the double/triple gameweek 35

Gameweek 35 could be absolutely to the fortunes of Fantasy Premier League managers all over the world, with double or in one case triple games on offer for players to pick up points.

Liverpool, Chelsea, Arsenal, Leicester, Aston Villa, Everton, Southampton and Crystal Palace are all in action twice during the next round of FPL action, with Manchester United players somehow squeezing in three games as a result of the club’s overly congested fixture list.

Here's a look at 10 players you must consider signing to maximise your points...

10. Timothy Castagne (DF)

Game week 35 opponents: Newcastle, Man Utd

Castagne is enjoying a good end to an injury affected debut season for Leicester and has scored both defensive and attacking points in recent weeks.

There is no reason to think the Foxes shouldn’t beat Newcastle at home, while they have previously shown they can more than match Manchester United. Castagne is well placed to pick up points.

9. Dean Henderson (GK)

Game week 35 opponents: Aston Villa, Leicester, Liverpool

Henderson has taken over from David de Gea as Manchester United’s starting Premier League goalkeeper and his FPL points tallies will benefit from playing three games in a week.

United still have one of the best defensive records in the league and two clean sheets out of three wouldn’t be an unreasonable expectation from these upcoming games.

8. Wilfried Zaha (MF)

Game week 35 opponents: Sheffield United, Southampton

A favourable double game week for Crystal Palace could mean plenty of opportunity for Zaha to score FPL points.

The Palace winger is thought to be okay following a recent groin complaint, although perhaps also consider teammate Eberechi Eze as an alternative.

7. Trent Alexander-Arnold (DF)

It has been a difficult season for everyone at Liverpool, but Alexander-Arnold has seen some improvement in his FPL output recently.

The Reds right-back has either scored or assisted in three of his last four appearances.

6. Emiliano Martinez (GK)

Saves have been a big way for Martinez to rack up FPL points this season, even while not necessarily always keeping clean sheets. No other goalkeeper has scored more points in 2020/21.

The Argentine stands to be busy this week, with both Manchester United and Everton possessing skilled attacking players that are bound to test him.

5. Ollie Watkins (FW)

Game week 35 opponents: Man Utd, Everton

Aston Villa have been rewarded for their investment in Ollie Watkins last summer, with the new England international scoring 13 Premier League goals this season.

Watkins’ current form is good, as well as consistent. He has bagged a minimum of five FPL points in six of his last seven Premier League appearances.

4. Edinson Cavani (FW)

Cavani is a striker in form, with seven goals and three assists in his last six games across all competitions - with two of those goals in his last 140 minutes of Premier League football.

The veteran Uruguayan should be relatively fresh for this run of matches as he has started fewer than 20 games all season. But Ole Gunnar Solskjaer cannot ignore his recent impact.

3. Kelechi Iheanacho (FW)

Game week 35 opponents: Newcastle, Man Utd

Nine goals in his last nine Premier League appearances, plus several others in the FA Cup, makes Kelechi Iheanacho the striker of the moment.

Ordinarily, the Nigerian might have been rested a bit this week with one eye on the FA Cup final next weekend, but the Foxes cannot afford to slip up in the race for the top four.

2. Kai Havertz (MF)

Game week 35 opponents: Man City, Arsenal

Havertz has started to find his feet in a Chelsea shirt since fellow countryman Thomas Tuchel became manager. He scored twice in his last Premier League appearance and made a big impact in the Champions League against Real Madrid a few days ago.

Chelsea are still under pressure to finish in the top four and cannot ease up yet, despite two cup finals now being on the immediate horizon.

1. Bruno Fernandes (MF)

Game week 35 opponents: Aston Villa, Leicester, Liverpool

Fernandes is the top scoring midfielder in FPL this season and with Manchester United in action three times in the next week it is a no-brainer to have him in your team.

United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will surely have to rotate in some way or another at some stage, but Fernandes has shown incredible endurance bordering on the super human and will probably at least make an appearance in all three games.
