Stamford Bridge development latest

Last updated : 25 August 2015 By Paul Lagan

Chelsea fans and interested locals will have the chance next week to hear the conclusions of a consultation into the proposed redevelopment of Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich is mindful, that in order to get the Blues a stadium fit for ambitions he has for the team, which is immense, he needs to do it properly and avoid the PR disaster of the recent past in regard to the Chelsea Pitch Owners takeover scheme.

To this end, having decided that the club can actually redevelop the ground, something they were adament in the past they could not, they have done the right thing.

After a sealed bid for the Battersea Power Station failed, Chelsea quickly realiesd that other options away from Stamford Bridge  were virtually non-existent..

There are numerous 'stakeholders' to consider before the club has a stadium to rival the Emirates, West Ham United's Olympic stadium and Spurs's proposed new ground, but they are well on the way.

With proposed talks with Wembley going well, the club will most likely play there for three seasons while the Bridge is rebulit, it's down to convincing locals that the redevelopment of the Bridge is a mutual 'win, win' situation.

Of course there planning permission issues to overcome, but first things first.

To that end, the locals and interested parties have been invited, next week to Stamford Bridge, to hear the conclusions of a recent consultation.

They  were sent the following email today form Chelsea FC:
