A suspect package created a security storm minutes before tonight's FA Youth Cup Final at Stamford Bridge.
An unattanded rucksack was found on the touchline adjacent to the East Stand part of the pitch close to where the players' tunnel is.
An alert steward noticed the package and infomed security.
The East Stand was within seconds of being evacuated according to security staff. - but then a red-faced TV man popped up and claimed the offending item.
"We would have evacuated the stand," a security advisor told Chelsea-Mad.
"Luckily for us, we did not need to.
"I told the guy, that bag goes where you go," he added
The game against Aston Villa went ahead as planned at 7.45pm with none of the 12, 500 crowd any the wiser - until now.
