Schurrle confident of Chelsea move

Chelsea target Andre Schurrle is convinced that he?ll be wearing the Stamford Bridge club?s blue strip next season. Although the deal seemed on the verge of completion a few weeks ago, of late both Chelsea and Leverkusen have been reticent about its completion. Apparently however, the player harbours no similar doubts, and Sky are reporting that he feels that he has completed his last game for the German club.

The 22 year old player has been very much on Chelsea?s radar for a couple of seasons and with the apparently imminent arrival of Jose Mourinho, the Chelsea summer plans appear to be taking shape. With Schurrle able to play either in a wide position or as a striker, the acquisition will give much needed flexibility to Chelsea?s attacking options. With the striker options currently hamstrung between the terminally out of touch Torres and the workmanlike, but largely uninspiring Demba Ba, the Blues? illustrious midfield trio of Mata, Hazard and Oscar have had to bear a lot of the burden for goal-scoring responsibilities. Addressing this will be one of Mourinho?s prime concerns for the new season.

Rumours persist that the club?s patience with the errant El Nino has finally worn too thin to support his status at the club any further, so even assuming that the bustling young Belgian Romelu Lukaku returns to his parent club for the new term, Schurrle?s acquisition will probably only be the first move in a plan to bolster Chelsea?s firepower. It could be an interesting summer for Chelsea fans ? and an expensive one for Roman Abramovich.
