Anyone doubting Veron's quality should take a look at his performances in Lazio's 2000 Scudetto season. Many pundits in Italy claim that it was Veron's presence in the side which proved the deciding factor in the title race- there was no doubt about his ability then.

And Seba reveals just how much Lazio means to him "I will play against my heart, I have lived at Lazio the best two years of my life. It is clear that this match will be a terrible internal conflict for me. At Lazio I won four trophies in the space of a few months - Scudetto, European Supercup, Coppa Italia and Italian Supercup - how can you forget those feelings and the affection of the fans."

But he also took the time to talk about his new club: "I am very happy at Chelsea, I have found a great club, a wonderful group. I am in debt to Ranieri, he brought me to Chelsea and has trusted me, I am sad that I have not been able to play in the last week's due to my ankle injury."

Veron has not ruled out returning to Lazio once his contract with Chelsea ends in June 2006, when he will be 31.

"When you have felt comfortable in a city, when you have had a special relationship with the fans, you always have the wish to return to that environment. Anything can happen in football but it will depend on certain factors."
