Poor old Ballack

Now don't get me wrong, I was cheering on Spain last night to victory in the Euro 2008 final.
But you have to spare a thought or two for our boy Michael Ballack.
Just what does he have to do to win a top, top title.
This season was a barren spell for the German captain at club level.
We lost the Premier League. With all the talent available at SW6, we should have walked it.
Spurs showed what an inspired game they can have when on song to beat us in the Carling Cup.
Mighty Barnsley dumped us out of the FA Cup and of course Manchester United won on penalties in the Champions League.
Now the same thing happened to Ballack when he played for Bayern Leverkusen.
Now if you add the fact he was suspended for the his country's last World Cup Final and add last night's Euro final and that adds up to a pretty miserable success rate.
Still he can now go on holiday, recharge his body and prepare to become the dominant midfielder for Chelsea.
He might have fallen short in his career so far, but next season might very well be his most successful.
Let's hope.

Viva Espana!!
