Player Ratings - Fulham (a)

Last updated : 22 December 2003 By Liam Corbett
As a team we bounced back from two straight defeats at Fulham on Saturday, but how did we do individually, especially with England manager Sven Goran Eriksson in attendance .......

Carlo Cudicini - Clean sheet, and was certainly made to work for it, with saves from Boa Morte, Melville and Saha. 8

Glen Johnson - Will not have impressed Sven on this showing, given the total run around and made to look very ordinary. 5

John Terry - Knows all about London derbies, played immense and was solid at the back with the returning Desailly 8

Marcel Desailly - Still our best defender, may be 35 but still on top of his game. 8

Wayne Bridge - Fab cross and assist for Crespo's goal. Would have impressed Sven going forward and with his defending. 9

Jesper Gronkjaer - Same old story, beats his man, then again, then another, then send its 40 yards off target. Very frustrating. Should get a run in team now, with Duff out. 6

Frank Lampard - Dominated midfield in second half, great dinked pass for Crespo took everyone by surprise, including Crespo himself. Usual determind and commited self. 7

Claude Makelele - Did his usual fantastic job, you hardly notice him, but he still seems to be everywhere. Like having another midfield runner when going forward, and another centre half when defending. Immense. 7

Damien Duff - Injured too early to get a fair rating. Replaced with joe Cole after 8 minutes. Dislocated shoulder. N/A

Adrian Mutu - Made up for Joe Cole's lack of imagination by creating from the left and right. Still too long since a goal, but it won't be long. Seems to be getting an understanding of some sort with Crespo now. 8

Hernan Crespo - Took his goal fabulously, rocket of a header in off the post, keeper didn't move. Constant threat, creating numerous chances with clever movement. Should probably have had more. 7

SUBS:

J. Cole - 6
Geremi - N/A (Played only 7 mins)
Gallas - N/A (Played only 1 minute!)
