Parker's Debut Reaction

Parker had a steady debut at Ewood Park as Chelsea ran out 3-2 winners for the second straight season. Here's what he had to say about it: "I know that Zola made his debut at Blackburn as well, so I'd love to follow in his footsteps in some way. Obviously my debut was very pleasing and we got a good win. I was quite shocked to be selected after the month I've had.

"It's been pretty hectic. I knew that fitness-wise, I wouldn't quite be up there with the others but I was more than happy out there and at times it was very good.

"Our start wasn't the best and we were slow out of the blocks but we controlled the game after that and showed our class.

"I was jumping up and down in the dug-out when the final whistle blew. I was absolutely buzzing. Making my debut, I really wanted to win and keep us up there with the other two and we did that. One game, three points - it's a good record so far.''
