Another Saturday without football. This is getting a bit silly now isn't it? At least we've got the Bundesliga to look forward to.
You know the drill by now. You're probably sat at home feeling crestfallen about the loss of the beautiful game and 90min helps lessen this sadness by reminding you of some of the marvellous footballing events that occured on this day throughout history. Sound good?

1951 - England Best Argentina at Wembley
Prior to Argentina's visit to Wembley in 1951 the only international side to ever face England at the Home of Football was Scotland.
La Albiceleste took an early lead through Mario Boyé before Stan Mortensen and Jackie Milburn scored late goals to secure victory for the Three Lions.
Tom Finney and Billy Wright also started for the hosts that day with the official attendance recorded at a staggering 99,000. The real star was Argentine goalkeeper Miguel Ángel Rugilo, not just for his stunning saves but also because of his glorious moustache.
1998 - Celtic Stop the Ten

Going into the 1997/1998 season Rangers were aiming to secure a historic tenth successive Scottish top flight title. Celtic had other ideas...
After trading blows all year, the Bhoys went into their final game of the season against St. Johnstone two points clear of their Old Firm rivals.
It was a stressful afternoon at Celtic Park but Henrik Larsson helped to put the supporters' nerves at ease by bending one in with just three minutes on the clock. Fellow Scandinavian Harald Brattbakk then put the game beyond all doubt deep into the second half with the Hoops awarded the SPL trophy soon after.
2006 - Roy Keane Testimonial
14 years ago, Roy Keane toasted a successful career during his testimonial at Old Trafford.
The Republic of Ireland legend played 45 minutes for a Manchester United XI and 45 minutes for a Celtic XI - the team he supported as a boy.
United secured victory in front of 69,000 spectators, a record for a UK testimonial. Paul Scholes and Ryan Giggs combined to set up a young Cristiano Ronaldo who fired the ball past Artur Boruc. Keane's post-match speech was quite something as well, with the midfielder dryly stating that he would remember the occasion for the rest of his life.
2010 - Chelsea Seal the Title in Style
There are good ways to seal the title, there are great ways to seal the title and then there's winning 8-0 at home to seal the title.
Chelsea lived the dream ten years ago when they dispatched Wigan by that very scoreline to secure their third Premier League triumph.
The Blues needed a victory on the final day to end Manchester United's three season reign at the summit of English football and they duly delivered in stunning style. Didier Drogba scored a hat trick to seal the Golden Boot over Wayne Rooney while Nicolas Anelka grabbed a brace. Goals from Frank Lampard, Salomon Kalou and Ashley Cole completed the rout.
2011 - Maxi Rodriguez Helps Liverpool to Big Win

The 2010/2011 season wasn't one of Liverpool's best - but that's not to say that fans were completely starved of memorable moments.
Case in point, their emphatic 5-2 win over Fulham. Maxi Rodriguez - remember him? - got the Reds' afternoon off to a perfect start by opening the scoring in the first minute, adding his second soon after.
Dirk Kuyt then joined the party before Rodriguez completed his hat trick after the break. Luis Suarez also grabbed a goal that day. Whatever happened to him?
2012 - Atletico Win the Europa League

Eight years ago, Diego Simeone won his first trophy with Atletico Madrid by leading his side to a 3-0 victory over Athletic Bilbao in the Europa League final.
In typical Atleti style, Bilbao dominated possession but would ultimately come unstuck due to a string of flowing counter attacks.
Talismanic striker Radamel Falcao scored a first half brace to put Simeone's side firmly in control before Diego added some gloss to the scoreline with five minutes left to play.
2015 - Riyad Mahrez Inspires Leicester to Keep Great Escape Alive
An inspired brace from Riyad Mahrez kept Leicester's great escape on track on this day five years ago. The Algerian's first was a sublime solo effort while his second was calmly taken after excellent work from Jamie Vardy.
With eight games left to play, the Foxes were seven points adrift at the foot of the Premier League table and relegation seemed a certainty.
Incredibly though, Nigel Pearson's side won seven of their remaining fixtures to secure safety and this result against the Saints was one of the sweetest.

A year ago, Pierre Emerick Aubameyang scored a ruthless hat trick as Arsenal booked their place in their first ever Europa League final.
The first leg of the Gunners' semi final against Valencia had ended 3-1 at the Emirates, putting Unai Emery's side in pole position to progress.
Kevin Gameiro's early strike raised concerns of an imminent Arsenal bottle job but these fears were soon put to bed when Aubameyang grabbed a crucial away goal. The Gabon international would go on to score twice more with Alexandre Lacazette also getting on the scoresheet in a 4-2 win.
