Notice Served On Bosnich Contract

Last updated : 08 January 2003 By -

Mark had already been suspended indefinitely by the club after failing a drug test for cocaine in November and is being given 14 days' formal notice in writing that his contract "is being terminated".

However, reports are suggesting that Mark has received legal advice stating that Chelsea could be acting improperly although the club insist that the player has breached his contract.

Bosnich has until this Friday to submit a written response and he is likely to do so, with reports indicating that he intends to contest the charge.

Whatever the if’s and the but’s, let’s face it, Mark is no longer a Chelsea boy.

Chelsea’s official statement with regard to the matter read as follows:

"Chelsea Football Club can confirm that notice has been served on goalkeeper Mark Bosnich that his contract is being terminated under the terms of the FA Premier League.

"We will be saying nothing else on the matter during this notice period."
