Norwich City have held talks with Frank Lampard over their vacant managerial position, but also hold an interest in Dean Smith, who was sacked by Aston Villa on Sunday, and Southampton manager Ralph Hasenhuttl.
The Canaries pulled the trigger on Daniel Farke in the aftermath of the 2-1 win over Brentford on Saturday - their first win of the Premier League season.
The timing of Farke's dismissal was a surprise to some, but allows the club to head into the international break with fresh impetus ahead of what's going to be a very challenging final six months of the season.
Norwich are currently rock bottom of the Premier League table, having taken just five points from their opening 11 games. They've also scored just five goals - two which of came at the weekend - and have conceded 26, giving them comfortably the worst goal difference in the division.
Appointing a replacement swiftly appears to be the order of the day, and various reports suggest Norwich have shortlisted three candidates to take over.
The first is Frank Lampard, who is the bookmakers favourite to take over at Carrow Road. The Guardian say he held exploratory talks with Norwich on Monday, with any forthcoming offer giving the 43-year-old a route back into management little over nine months since he was sacked by Chelsea.
He also has a year-long spell at Derby County on his CV, whom he led to the Championship play-off final.
Dean Smith is another name in the frame. Sky Sports suggest that he appeals to the Canaries board because of his experience of keeping Aston Villa - who sacked him on Sunday - in the Premier League, adding that he holds 'all the necessary skills' to be a success in East Anglia.
An outside contender, meanwhile, is Southampton's Ralph Hasenhuttl, who is obviously still employed and is doing what many consider to be a fine job.
It's said that Norwich's board have 'huge admiration' for the Austrian but accept it would be difficult to lure him away. Indeed, there's no suggestion that Hasenhuttl would want to leave a Southampton side who have come into form in recent weeks.
