Despite having three years remaining on his contract, Ranieri is widely tipped to receive his marching orders from Chelsea this summer. The club's second place finish and reaching the Champions League semi finals should be considered a success by Abramovich, considering the large volume of players joining the club last summer.

But it would appear that the season was not good enough in the eyes of Peter Kenyon and Roman.

Earlier today, Claudio said "I hope to come back, I work very well in England. I love the passion and atmosphere and would like to continue my job here."

Whilst most Chelsea fans would like to see Claudio continue his work at the club, that seems an unlikely scenario at present. As ever, Chelsea Mad will keep you up to date with this story...
