Reports coming out of Goodison sugests the £m deal could be signed, sealed and delivered by the end of this week.
Everton's chief executive Keith Wyness revealed that the clubs have held talks about the 24-year-old player.
"We haven't reached agreement yet, but we are not far apart now," he told the club's website.
