Mario Focused On First

Stanic, Chelsea's utility player, has been a bit part player this year as he struggles to retain a regular first team place.

But that is not to say that his contributions have not been significant. When no one else was available at left back, it was Mario who filled in there earlier this season. And 2 goals in a week against Everton helped us into the quarter finals of the Worthington Cup and into 2nd place in the league.

And Stanic could make the side against Middlesbrough tomorrow, although he is more concerned about taking all 3 points back to West London, "I hadn't scored for a long time and now it's a good time for me and for Chelsea.

"We just have to keep going in this way. We have two difficult games, with Manchester United to come in the Worthington Cup next Tuesday, and I hope we will show everyone that we are in good form.

"Our bad moment was when we lost against West Ham and Viking Stavanger in October.

"But now everyone is full of confidence, we are helping each other and we are playing as a team. This, I hope, can be a really good season for Chelsea.''

Celestine Babayaro is definitely out of tomorrow's clash through suspension so Graeme Le Saux should remain in the side, whilst Bolo Zenden is still waiting to make his first appearance since suffering an ankle injury in October.
