Makelele Talks Ongoing

The Spanish press were adamant that a deal would be concluded by this evening, but Real Madrid have moved the goalposts slightly. The fee has gone from £10 million to £13.8 million.

But Roman Abramovich has not been put off by the asking price. Claudio Ranieri revealed "We're talking to Makelele and you'll know everything in two days. Wait until then."

If Makelele does sign, it would take Roman's spending to (wait for it).... £108 million!!!

And Neil Sullivan is likely to sign soon. Ranieri claims that a deal will be concluded shortly......
