Luis gone, but who comes in?

One out, one in, that's the transfer policy at Stamford Bridge these days.

Jose Mourinho must be pulling his hair out at the loss of Brazilian Felipe Luis, who went back to Atletico Madrid today With no obvious replacement in sight.

Technical director Michael Emenalo is tasked with sourcing new players and will have to act quickly as the season curtain-raiser is but days away against Arsenal at Wembley in the Community Shield.

Mourinho will not want to start the season without specialist defensive back-up.

Luis wore the blue  of Chelsea on only 21 occasions last season, unable to get past right-back, but converted to left back Cesar Azpilivueta, affectionally known as Dave.

Options currently doing the rounds inlude Abdul Rahman Baba being strongly favoured with a move from Augsberg but now it seems the focus could in fact be the Brazilian full-back Alex Telles.

To add insult to injury, the  Blues lost £5million on the deal for the 29-year-old defender who returned to Spain to Atletico Madrid for £11million.

In any other business, heads would roll, but at SW6, they will seek to claw that deficit back in other transfer deals.

What do you think happened to Luis at Chelsea that prompted his return to Spain's?
