According to Sky Sports News, Lamps said that if Chelsea are to splash the cash, Ronaldinho is his player of choice. He then went on to make his claim that Ronnie could be as big a player for Chelsea as Zola was.

And Lamps' wish may soon become reality, with Barcelona confirming Chelsea have bid for Ronaldinho.

Barca President Joan Laporta said: "Along with the Chelsea offer we have had other approaches.

"There will be very substantial bids for him and we cannot prevent mega offers from petrol magnates as the player does have a buy-out clause in his contract."
