Chelsea hero Kai Havertz was in no mood to talk about his price tag after bagging the winning goal in his side's Champions League final triumph over Manchester City.
A £72m signing from Bayer Leverkusen last summer, the 21-year-old hasn't always lived up to expectations in his debut season at Stamford Bridge, but he put in a masterful performance on Saturday and sealed the ultimate glory for Chelsea with a composed finish in the first half.
It was an emotional end to a tricky season for Havertz, who was completely lost for words when interviewed by BT Sport after the game.
Well...there was one word he managed to find.
When asked whether he felt he had repaid his hefty fee with his crucial goal, Havertz simply responded: "To be honest, right now I don't give a f**k about that, we won the f**king Champions League."
Fair play, really.
Havertz's interview was stormed by an ecstatic Cesar Azpilicueta, who took the microphone and made sure the world knew just how special the young German truly is.
"He deserves that," the captain said. "A tough season, but a top mentality. This guy is going to be a superstar. He is already, he gave us the Champions League.
"Not only that, but he ran like crazy. That's teamwork. That's why he deserves this."
Havertz's goal was just his ninth in all competitions in his debut season in England, which has been drowning in pressure and hampered by a positive COVID-19 diagnosis from which the German took months to recover.
He slowly started to find his best form following the arrival of Thomas Tuchel, and if this latest performance is anything to go by, the 2021/22 campaign could be an exciting watch for Chelsea fans.
