JT Reveals The Best Ever Feeling...

Last updated : 07 April 2004 By Rich Godden
JT, as per usual, was immense last night. When was the last time you saw Theirry Henry substituted?? He spent most of his evening in JT's pocket!

The legend himself (JT, not Thierry Henry, muppet!) said "This is the best feeling I have ever experienced in football. A lot of the lads said the same after the game. What a great night, this is what it is all about, it is absolutely brilliant for everyone involved.

"We played like we could beat anybody, right from the word go - the lads were right up for it. We look so solid throughout the team, everyone is prepared to fight for each other - the lads here want to win and die for each other.''

"We are not going to get carried away and say we are going to win this, that and the other.

"However, it is important we keep our feet on the ground. We have done very well to come this far in the competition but Monaco have beaten a very good side in Real Madrid and so the semi will be very tough.

"Madrid are one of the best teams in the world but if Monaco can beat them 3-1 they are no mugs and it will be tough for us. Just because we have won at Arsenal, nobody will get carried away and think we have won the competition. We have to prepare right, like we have for all our Champions League games.''

What next for Arsenal though? JT has some kind words for his North London adversaries: "Arsenal are a great side with great players and I am sure they will bounce back, but if we keep putting pressure on them then who knows what will happen.

"They cracked last year and we'd love that to happen again, but there is no point in them slipping up if we don't go and win our games.

"It is important we win our next two league games. We have two in as many days and we need to get six points from them. We haven't given up on the league, we'll keep fighting until the death.

"There is a great team spirit among the lads, everyone gets on so well and that's been showing in the games. We have said all along we'll keep fighting and keep putting pressure on Arsenal.''

And you didn't think he would finish without saying owt about Claudio... "We have said all along we are right behind the boss, he has done a great job already and we'll wait and see what happens.

"He has done a fantastic job here, he has bought some great players and he has got the lads together, and that is vital.''
