Jorginho, Ciro Immobile & Lorenzo Insigne all left Italy's training camp on Saturday as rumours swirl about the trio's international futures.
The Chelsea, Lazio and Napoli (soon-to-be Toronto FC) men were all heavily criticised for their performances in Italy's shock upset to North Macedonia on Thursday evening - a defeat that knocked the European champions out of World Cup 2022 contention.
Due to their displays and the subsequent backlash, rumours have begun to circulate in Italy about what their futures might hold at international level.
A report from Corriere dello Sport added fuel to the speculation on Sunday. The Italian publication stated that Jorginho, Immobile and Insigne have been 'morally destroyed' by the North Macedonia defeat, and were all granted leave from national team duties by Roberto Mancini - who did not intend to use any of the three players in Italy's rather pointless upcoming friendly with Turkey.
The trio are all in their 30s and are said to be unlikely to be part of plans for the next international tournament should Italy qualify: Euro 2024.
While Jorginho and Insigne have previously been lauded for their performances for the national team, particularly during Euro 2020, Immobile has be consistently criticised for not being a tactical fit for Mancini's team.
Players who could be in line to replace Immobile at international level are Sassuolo duo Giacomo Raspadori - who made the Euro 2020 squad - and Gianluca Scamacca.
