Have a chat and lunch with Huddy

Last updated : 30 March 2009 By Paul Lagan

Alan Hudson was widely acknowledged as one of the finest midfield players in this country during the 1970's and 80's.
His colourful and some would say controversial career saw him shine with Chelsea, Arsenal, Stoke City, Seattle Sounders and of course England.
One of the highlights of Huddy's career was playing alongside his great friend Tommy Baldwin, when picking up The European Cup Winners Cup in 1971, a feat that the likes of John Terry and Frank Lampard have yet to achieve!

It was however something totally unrelated to football that was to impact on Alan's life, far more than the great things he achieved in the game.
On December 15t, 1997, a speeding vehicle struck Alan in a London street and threw him into a nearby tree, causing horrific injuries.
From that day to this, hospital has been Alan's second home.
Initially, thanks to the tremendous skills and determination of the doctors and surgeons involved and subsequently Alan's own incredible resilience and untold hard work, he has remarkably survived a situation that would undoubtedly have killed 90 percent of other men.
What's more, he has retained all of his sense of humour and mischief and it remains a real pleasure to share his company.

In an effort to further help Alan with his ongoing rehabilitation, we invite you to join us at The Eyston Arms, in the picturesque village of East Hendred, Oxfordshire, to share a superb lunch, fine wine and the company of Alan and his friends and special guests for the day, Tommy Baldwin, Stevie Bould, the ex Stoke City and Arsenal defender, perhaps best remembered for his rock solid partnership with Tony Adams in that tremendous championship winning Arsenal side, and Graham Bradley, one the greatest National Hunt Jockeys to have ridden in recent years, having won both the Cheltenham Gold Cup and the Champion Hurdle, on Bregawn and Collier Bay respectively, amongst many other fantastic victories.

As we intend to make this an intimate and highly enjoyable experience for you, we are limiting the seating to fifty people. We would therefore urge you to reserve your seats sooner rather than later.
