Graham Potter yet to make decision on Denis Zakaria's Chelsea future

Graham Potter has admitted he is yet to make a decision on the future of Juventus loanee Denis Zakaria.

Zakaria joined Chelsea on loan for the season at the very end of the summer transfer after the club failed to sign Ajax's Edson Alvarez.

However, he has yet to play a single minute for the Blues since his arrival under either Thomas Tuchel or his replacement Potter.

It has been reported that Chelsea could choose to send Zakaria back to Juventus in January should he remain on the fringes of the squad.

However, Potter insists he is yet to make any decisions on that front and has been pleased with Zakaria's attitude.

"There is no decision been made at all on that," he said. "Denis is in the group and has been training well.

"He is ready to help the team but there is competition for places in that area. He is an important member of the team and is patient and trying to help the team from the side at the moment. He is waiting for his chance."

Chelsea have had long spells already this season where they've been light due to injuries, while the futures of Jorginho and N'Golo Kante remain up in the air.

90min reported earlier this week that the Chelsea hierarchy were deliberating over whether to hand new deals to the duo, though are fully aware that replacing them may take more than just two signings.
