Forssell Injury

The Finnish striker underwent an operation yesterday on the niggling problem, which apparently found a problem in his kneecap that could keep him out for most of the season.

"It seems they found something in his kneecap," said Finnish FA spokesman Timo Walden.

"Until yesterday we had hoped that he would play in our two matches in October. Now we hope he will be fit for the Czech Republic match."

The Czech Republic match isn't until March 2005!

The 23 year old planned to spend a second season on loan at Birmingham after a successful spell there last year.

However, this seems to be have been cut short and Forssell has returned to the Bridge.
