Desailly Keen To Stay

Desailly has been in glittering form for the Blues alongside William Gallas this season. After a bit of a shaky start, the whole defence is now pulling to gether and the goals against column is looking good for Chelsea- we now have the joint best defence and have conceded just once since losing to Liverpool in October.

And Desailly has taken the opportunity to let Blues fans know what his future holds... and it's good news! Desailly said, "I am not ready to change clubs anymore," he said. "When I was young, I was trying to get new contracts because it was very special to play for another club.

"But I don't want to do that any more. I am at a club that every year has a high objective."

Nice to hear that Marcel, but what about Chelsea's title hopes? Well, our French skipper is feeling quietly confident... "Every year we are trying to win the Premier League, even if this year people are saying they are not sure whether we can do it.

"We still have a team full of quality players."

He also hit back at his critics, who claim that he is only interested in earning a nice wage packet in London, "Sometimes people say I only care about the money, but if I was really playing for the money I would have stopped a long time ago.

"I have a small amount of money in the bank, but it is the pleasure of playing that keeps me going. I love life in London."

Well, that clears that up then!
