Dalla Bona: “I Fear Team Will Fall Apart”

Last updated : 21 July 2002 By -

The young Italian midfielder, who joined AC Milan earlier this month, has revealed his fears and concerns that the team he left could disintegrate if the financial situation is not remedied.

"I fear the team will fall apart," Dalla Bona told the News of the World. "You would not want to be around when that happens".

"Chelsea spent a lot of money putting that squad together and everyone, including myself, expected great things. But it never happened and now there could be a big price to pay".

"The club needed Champions League money and this is why you now hear rumours that Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink and Eidur Gudjohnsen could be for sale. It is very sad."

The 21 year midfielder has signed a five year deal which will keep him at the San Siro until June 2007. He made 42 league appearances for Chelsea after joining the club from Atalanta in 1998, although he is still to make his Serie A debut.

Nice to know that Sam is so concerned for his former employers……..??
