Cudicini Bites Back

TV replays showed that Jeffers was already on the way down when the alledged contact was made- but any contact seemed to be caused by Jeffers kicking Cudicini's hand with his trailing boot.

Carlo is still seething about the incident, and he told Planet Football: "I know that I did not touch him. When the referee gave the penalty I asked him why he dived and he just smiled.”

“In England there has been little reaction to the dive on the television, whereas in Italy the polemics would have rumbled on. After the whistle blows everyone seems to forget about the game.”

Carlo also revealed that he had done his homework on Thierry Henry ahead of the game: "I have studied Henry and I knew that he would shoot into that corner."

Smart goalkeeping from Carlo- clearly proving that if you put in the time the rewards are there for all to see...
