Antonio Conte has not officially taken charge of Chelsea and is busy preparing for a quarter-final against Germany after having defeated reigning champions Spain

Although the 46-year-old may be somewhat busy he is looking like securing his first player in the form of striker Michy Batshuayi.

£33.2million appears to have secured the Marseille man according to reports after it appeared that Crystal Palace had got the player for £31.6m on Monday

Despite that figure being reportedly accepted by Marseille president Vincent Labrune it appears that Chelsea have stepped in with an increased bid to secure the signature of the 22-year-old.

The player was being tracked by other Premier League teams such as Spurs and West Ham but it looked like Palace had secured a shock transfer

Batshuayi scored for Belgium in their 4-0 thrashing of Hungary and will be in action again when Belgium take on Wales in their quarter-final encounter.

The striker joined Marseille from Standard Liege in 2014 for £4.5million, scoring 26 goals in 62 league appearances for the Ligue 1 outfit

The player has been likened to Didier Drogba due to his speed, strength and positioning.
