And his performance had Joe Cole purring, as he revealed "Veron is definitely the best player I have ever played with - better than anyone I can think of. He did very, very well. He was a great player at Manchester United and I am sure he will be at Chelsea, too. He is just quality and he could end up helping the England midfield as well in a way - I certainly hope so.
"It will take time for us to gel totally as a team because there will be lots of different players used at different times. But good players can play well together anywhere. We’ve got off to a great one, but it is a long, hard season so we’ll just keep it going."
