Christian Pulisic Reveals He's Raring to Go When Premier League Returns After Recovering From Injury

Christian Pulisic has revealed he is raring to go whenever the Premier League returns, having recovered from the injury that has kept him out of action since the turn of the year.

The 21-year-old arrived at Chelsea in a big money move from Borussia Dortmund at the beginning of the season and was slow to get off the mark for the Blues. The American was largely used as a substitute at the beginning of the campaign, before forcing his way into Frank Lampard's plans by netting a hat trick against Burnley in October.

Reflecting on the game in a recent interview with the club's website, Pulisic revealed the performance was a turning point in his Chelsea career.

"It was my first start in a little while so I just had this motivation to go out and prove a lot of people wrong," he recalled.

"I felt I’d done okay up to that point but I hadn’t really shown everything that I could do so going into that game, I did have a chip on my shoulder.

"Once that first goal came, my confidence shot through the roof and it was just my day after that, everything kept falling for me. It was incredible. I’ll never forget coming home after that and just sitting down and looking back on what had just happened."

Two more Premier League strikes followed for Pulisic before a torn abductor muscle ruled him out in January. The forward has been using lockdown to recover and he is now relishing the English football's likely return next month.

"I didn’t take it [the injury] as seriously as I think I should have," he admitted. "If anything, I’ve given myself a little more time to rest now and make sure that I’m 100 percent fit. I’d say I’m fully recovered and ready to go as soon as we get back."
