Chelsea are 'willing to listen' to bids of £40m for striker Tammy Abraham this summer, as the Blues prepare to bring in a superstar forward in the upcoming transfer window.
The 23-year-old has come through the academy at Stamford Bridge and broke into the first team under Frank Lampard last year. But his opportunities have been severely restricted under Tuchel this season, playing only three minutes of Premier League football since mid-February.
The Telegraph reports that Chelsea are willing to offload Abraham for around £40m this summer, as they look to shake up their attacking options for the coming season.
The Blues are on the prowl for an elite level striker and the names of Erling Haaland and Romelu Lukaku have been mentioned as targets for the West London club. However, Chelsea must first shed some weight from their wage bill, and are hoping to rake in around £100m in player sales in the summer transfer window.
Abraham's departure would provide a major chunk of that kitty and they are willing to sacrifice the homegrown forward, despite the fact he remains the club's top scorer in all competitions for the current campaign.
The former Aston Villa loanee must be considering his options too, having seen his playing time reduced massively since the arrival of Tuchel. He has been forced to watch on from the sidelines on their Champions League adventure and has subsequently fallen down the England pecking order ahead of their Euro 2020 campaign.
Abraham has been linked with a potential move to West Ham in the past and he could be a good fit for the Hammers, who are in desperate need of attacking reinforcements. Following Abraham out of the door may well be Olivier Giroud, whose contract expires at the end of the season.
He too has been made to watch on from the bench and will be keen to keep playing in order to maintain his spot in the French national side. The duo's departure would free up around £200,000 a week on Chelsea's wage bill, helping them in their quest for a marquee signing this summer.
