Chelsea pre-season 2022/23: Fixtures and schedule

Chelsea will jet off on their first pre-season tour since way back in 2019 this summer.

The Covid-19 pandemic forced any lavish travel plans to be shelved in both 2020 and 2021, with Chelsea, Arsenal and Tottenham contesting a London-based mini tournament last year.

However, with pre-season tours back on the menu, the Blues will be boarding a long-haul flight in July to get their preparations for next season underway.

There could be a hitch, though, with Chelsea potentially unable to travel if their takeover has still not been completed by that stage.

Here's what we know about their schedule and opponents so far...

Where are Chelsea going for 2022/23 pre-season?

Chelsea have confirmed they will be heading stateside in July to join the week-long 'Clash of Nations' tour. The tour is part of the FC Series - a competition featuring clubs from around the world.

The Blues will headline two matches against unconfirmed international opponents across the US before facing Arsenal in a London derby in Orlando, where the so-called Florida Cup will be up for grabs.

On the tour announcement, Chelsea technical and performance advisor Petr Cech said: "We’ve always had a lot of success on our US tours, taking so many fans to the stadiums and giving them the opportunity to see Chelsea FC play live.

"We have a huge fan base in the US that we’ve proudly built, and we’ve seen that fanbase getting bigger and bigger every year."

A club statement added: "The club will be joining under new ownership. The Blues will only travel if the sale of the club has completed and accordingly are no longer subject to United Kingdom government sanctions. Ticket refunds will be issued if the game does not go ahead."
