Chelsea are willing to allow centre-back Antonio Rudiger to join London rivals Tottenham Hotspur on loan this summer, but only if he agrees to sign a one-year contract extension before sealing the move.
Rudiger has tumbled down the pecking order this season and now appears to be fifth choice in Frank Lampard's eyes, with Thiago Silva, Kurt Zouma, Andreas Christensen and Fikayo Tomori all ahead of the German.
Rudiger was an unused substitute in Chelsea's season opener against Brighton but has not been seen since, prompting rumours that he could be on his way out of Stamford Bridge before the end of the transfer window.
Several reports have named Spurs as potential suitors, and according to the Evening Standard, Chelsea wouldn't hesitate to allow Rudiger to make the move to their cross-town rivals, but it will all come down to whether he agrees to extend his contract first.
90min has previously reported that the Blues have turned down proposals from both Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain because of Rudiger's refusal to sign an extension - he would return with just 12 months remaining on his deal - but they would be ready to pick up the phone if he did put pen to paper.
A source close to the situation has confirmed to 90min that Daniel Levy is yet to show any formal interest in landing Rudiger, but that could all change if Chelsea do make him available for loan. At the minute, the Blues are looking for a permanent buyer, and Spurs aren't prepared to join that party just yet.
Spurs' focus remains on Inter centre-back Milan Skriniar, although with Inter looking for somewhere close to £50m for the Slovakian, Jose Mourinho may be forced to look elsewhere in his search for reinforcements.
Whether Rudiger would be a viable option is unclear. The German accused a section of Spurs fans of racist abuse when the two sides met in December 2019, claiming 'racism won' after no evidence of was found.
The saga saw Rudiger criticised heavily by many sections of Spurs' fanbase, who were left furious at what they perceived to be baseless accusations, so it's safe to say that the German and Spurs don't exactly have the best relationship.
