Chelsea predicted lineup vs West Ham - Premier League

Chelsea host West Ham on Sunday in a second London derby in a week as Thomas Tuchel's men look to bounce back from their disappointing home defeat to Arsenal in the Premier League.

The German lamented his side's careless defending in their 4-2 loss to the Gunners in midweek, hinting that the surface at Stamford Bridge is partly responsible for the proliferation of individual defensive errors.

Indeed, Chelsea sit five points clear of both Tottenham and Arsenal in third place, but Tuchel's side will be looking over their shoulder with Champions League qualification yet to be rubber-stamped.

Here's how the Blues could line up.

Edouard Mendy (GK) - Has looked uncharacteristically sluggish in recent weeks, often looking hesitant when trying to take control of situations.

Cesar Azpilicueta (RCB) - Caught arguing with a fan inside Stamford Bridge, just minutes after committing the most bizarre foul on Bukayo Saka to concede a penalty.

Thiago Silva (CB) - Brings an assurance to the Chelsea backline, although even he looked sluggish in the second half of the midweek defeat to Arsenal.

Malang Sarr (LCB) - Struggled badly against Arsenal in midweek, making his first appearance since the FA Cup win at Middlesbrough.

Reece James (RWB) - Tuchel has been keen to protect him physically, hence why he has been deployed in central defence.

Jorginho (CM) - A specialist from the penalty spot, which is key in games where the margins are fine.

N'Golo Kante (CM) - The type of fixture where the Frenchman usually shines, with West Ham likely to spring forward quickly on the counter-attack.

Marcos Alonso (LWB) - Consistency is the Spaniard's biggest issue, capable of both the brilliance and the baffling.

Mason Mount (RW) - Became the fourth youngest Chelsea player to make a century of Premier League appearances in the defeat to Arsenal, behind John Obi Mikel, John Terry and Eddie Newton.

Kai Havertz (ST) - Chelsea's talisman this season, with the Blues sorely missing his presence in midweek.

Timo Werner (LW) - Since the start of last season, the German has scored more goals than any other Chelsea player across all competitions.
