Chelsea open talks over Dynamo Moscow winger Arsen Zakharyan

Chelsea are in contact with Dynamo Moscow over a deal to sign long-term target Arsen Zakharyan, 90min can confirm.

New Blues owner Todd Boehly has been working closely with academy chiefs Neil Bath and Jim Fraser to pursue some of the game's top young talents, having already finalised expensive deals to sign Gabriel Slonina, Carney Chukwuemeka and Cesare Casadei.

Next up could be 19-year-old midfielder Zakharyan as sources have confirmed to 90min that Chelsea have made contact with Moscow over a possible deal.

A fee of €15m, believed to be a release clause, is being discussed.

Zakharyan's agent, Pavel Andreev, has confirmed to RB Sport that an agreement with Chelsea is nearing completion.

"It's true. The agreement is close," Andreev said.

Russian international Zakharyan has long been touted as a possible future star and has been on Chelsea's radar for some time. He has managed 13 goals and 16 assists in 52 outings for his club, playing all across the midfield.

Originally brought through as a left winger, Zakharyan does still spend most of his time in that role but also has plenty of experience on the right and even as a central midfielder - where the majority of his minutes have come this season.
