Champions League draw LIVE: Chelsea, Man City & Real Madrid to learn quarter-final opponents

The Champions League quarter-final and semi-final draws will take place on Friday as the top teams left in the competition discover their next opponents.

The drama is sure to reach greater levels after some mixed round of 16 ties, with few of those games providing the chaos fans of Europe's elite club competition have become so accustomed to.

Champions Real Madrid remain the team to beat after they saw off Liverpool but Manchester City, Napoli and Bayern Munich among others have designs on lifting the trophy in the final in Turkey.

When is the draw?

The 2022/23 Champions League quarter-final, semi-final and final draws will take place on Friday 17 March. It will start at 11:00 GMT at the House of European Football in Nyon, Switzerland.

The four quarter-final draws are made and then the semi-final draw begins, where those four QF ties will be paired together for matches in the final four. The two winners then face off in the final at Istanbul's Ataturk Olympic Stadium.

Italy are the most heavily represented team with three sides reaching the last eight, with the Premier League providing two teams in Chelsea and Manchester City.

Real Madrid and Bayern Munich are Spain and Germany's sole representatives respectively, while Portuguese outfit Benfica are enjoying a memorable run and will pray for a winnable tie.
