Carlo Out? Frey In?

Frey has been outstanding for Parma in the last 18 months and the Italian press have previously reported that Chelsea will offer Parma £5 million plus Carlo Cudicini for the Frenchman.

And frey told L'Equipe: "I know that Chelsea have moved for me. I have talked with the board of Parma about it although, for the moment, I don't know exactly what Chelsea have proposed. I still want to play with Parma until the end of the season before I move, but I know that they need money.

"In football, things can change. This is the most exciting contact at the moment, although I am aware of the interest from Bayern."

Despite Frey's claims, Carlo's agent claims to know nothing of any deal. Federico Pastorello said "I have had no news from Chelsea on that. I'm not sure that Chelsea want to sell Carlo. We will have to wait and see."

Why would Chelsea even consider selling the best goalkeeper in the Premiership? Saying that, we did get rid of the best left back in the league in the summer, to be replaced by a younger version...
