Bridge returns to the England fold

Wayne Bridge is expected to make his long-awaited England return tomorrow.
The Chelsea left-back is in the squad to face Argentina in Switzerland.

England coach Sven-Goran Eriksson believes Bridge is also one for the squad for the World Cup Finals in Germany in the summer.

Bridge has played only 60 minutes of first-team football for the Blues since returning from a broken leg but Eriksson said: "I don't think it's a gamble.

"I don't think he's ready for 90 minutes, that would be amazing, so if he starts I will take him off.

"He's one of those players I hope will come to the World Cup, he's important for us."

In John Terry, Frank Lampard, Joe Cole together with Shaun Wright-Phillips and Bridge, Chelsea could field half the England team in the World Cup Final.

And quite right too.
