Bogarde Expects Summer Exit

Since joining the club three years ago, Bogarde has played in a very impressive two Premiership games. On his £40,000 a week wages that works out to.... a lot of money for two appearances!

Rather than test himself elsewhere and try for another shot at the big time, Bogarde was more than happy to rot in the reserves collecting his big pay packet. People will often say, "Well, wouldn't you" but I don't think I would. Love him or hate him, Bogarde was a good defender and had played for Holland on numerous occasions- why throw that all away for a bit more money (actually, a lot more money!)?

Here's what Bogarde told BBC Sport "It's clear to me Chelsea would like me to leave so I'm fully expecting them to reopen talks to try and come to some sort of agreement.

"There is increasing speculation that I'll be leaving in the summer, I'm not stupid and I understand why people expect me to go. It's near the end of another disappointing season for me and no conversations have taken place.

"Situations don't stay the same for ever so maybe we can look at resolving it now."

If there's any justice in this world, Winston Bogarde will receive the pay-off he deserves: nothing! As it is, he stands to make £2million and I won't be at all surprised if he takes us to court for getting injured whilst at work- splinters in the arse you see, from all that time on the bench!
