Beckham is Stamford Bridge-bound

What's all this talk about David Beckham coming to Chelsea in January?
Is it a totalling decision or a marketing ploy?

Perhaps both, but what good is it going to do to Chelsea's chances of overhauling Manchester United next season in the league
Carlos Ancelotti is expected to announce that he will be Chelsea's next manger later today (Monday).
He will, it's been reported, ask chief executive Peter Kenyon to sanction a loan move for Beckham who is an LA Galaxy player but who was loaned to AC Milan this season - Ancelott's club.
Chelsea are hoping to keep a lid on the successor to Guus Hiddink, himself a temporary replacement for Felipe Scolari, a replacement for Avram Grant who replaced Chelsea's double-title winning boss Jose Mourinho until after Saturday's FA Cup final - but the Milan man is having none of it.

Chelsea have said they want some stability after the mess they have made of choosing the right man to replace Mourinho - Ancelotti is, according to all reputable sources, that man.

Chelsea-mad spoke to contact will close associations with Italian football yesterday and discovered that if Chelsea were looking for a coach who could articulate in English his football philosophy, they have picked the wrong man.
Scolari suffered by not being able to put across his vision of football in English - he was never comfortable and the English media, in particular the tabloid press, were more that happy to try and trip the Brazilian up.

Ancelotti will require coaching of a subject very alien to him - namely the English press - perhaps he can call upon that man who can handle them to perfection - namely David Beckham.
We shall see.
