Baba, along with Yakubu and Agali, was sent home for what the Nigerian FA described as an act of indiscipline. The goal posts have now been moved, however.

Nigeria boss Christian Chukwu said "We have forgiven them and all three of them are now free to return to the team. We expect them to rejoin their mates here as soon as possible.

"There are no conditions attached to their return, it is left for them to return or not. If they choose to return, fine. But if we don't see them it is all well by us."

The turn around came about just hours after Nigeria found out that they would be facing tournament favourites Cameroon in the quarter finals...

On the positive side of things, if Baba does go back, we know that we'll have either him or Geremi back by next week when Nigeria and Cameroon go head to head on Sunday!
