Ambrosio Questioning Ability

Last updated : 17 March 2004 By Rich Godden
Judging by his performance against Bolton, he is up to it! But he must now take that form into the Fulham game this weekend...

Ambrosio said "I don't know if I'm ready for this challenge. I try to do my best and we'll see after we've played Arsenal. This is the first big chance of my life and I want to do the best so I can change my career. My biggest game before now was an Italian League Cup quarter-final for Chievo against Roma."

"Saturday was a good start and I felt very good. It was important we took three points so we can continue to try and catch Arsenal.

"Before the game, the manager-told me to be calm and to play without fear. I was very nervous and felt under pressure because everyone wants to see if I am ready to play for a big team like Chelsea.

"I hadn't played a match for six months so it was very difficult to concentrate. I made some good saves and it gave me lots of confidence."

The crowd certainly helped his confidence on Saturday- Chelsea Mad salutes those fans who made him feel so welcome!
