90min's Premier League Team of the Month - October 2020

Month two of the Premier League season has come and gone. We're at the point where things should be starting to settle down, but in case you haven't noticed, things are not settling down.

Tottenham have roared towards the top of the table, Everton and Aston Villa have started to slow down, Virgil van Dijk is gone for who knows how long and Manchester United are being...well, Manchester United.

Let's take a look at 90min's Team of the Month from October.

1. Goalkeeper & Defenders

Alphonse Areola (GK) - Average rating: 7/10 - Fulham picked up just one point in October, but without Areola, the Cottagers would definitely have been on zero, and their goal difference would have been through the floor. He's doing his best to keep Fulham afloat.

Kyle Walker-Peters (RB) - Average rating: 7.34/10 - Walker-Peters helped Southampton go unbeaten in October. Stellar performances against West Brom and Everton were the highlights for the young right-back.

Thiago Silva (CB) - Average rating: 7.34/10 - Silva was everything Chelsea have been missing in defence throughout October. He was dominant at the Blues kept clean sheets against Crystal Palace, Man Utd and Burnley, with his performance at Old Trafford particularly impressive.

Wesley Fofana (CB) - Average rating: 8/10 - Eyebrows were raised when Leicester paid £30m for Fofana, but that's quickly looking like an absolute steal. He was his side's top performer against Villa and led by example as the Foxes beat Arsenal.

Ben Chilwell (LB) - Average rating: 7.25/10 - In his first two Chelsea appearances, Chilwell managed a goal and two assists, and he's followed them up with some stunning showings. Frank Lampard's faith in him has been justified.

2. Midfielders

Allan Saint-Maximin (RM) - Average rating: 7.67/10 - After putting in perhaps his finest performance in a Newcastle shirt against Burnley, Saint-Maximin managed to impress against Wolves, United and Everton, despite being shifted into a central striker role at times.

Jack Grealish (CM) - Average rating: 7.34/10 - Grealish started the month with two goals and three assists against Liverpool, so a spot in the TOTM was always pretty likely.

Pierre-Emile Højbjerg (CM) - Average rating: 7.34/10 - Højbjerg has slotted perfectly into José Mourinho's Tottenham side, providing some real grit and determination that they didn't always have last year.

Jack Harrison (LM) - Average rating: 7.5/10 - After doing his utmost to try and prevent Leeds from falling to a defeat against Wolves, Harrison stood up and stole the show against Aston Villa. He was absolutely astounding, ripping Matty Cash apart time and time again.

3. Forwards

Son Heung-min (ST) - Average rating: 8.34/10 - With four goals and two assists from just three games (including a 6-1 win over United), Son waltzes into this team, and so does...

Harry Kane (ST) - Average rating: 9/10 - 90min's Player of the Month by a long way, Kane has been on a different planet recently. He bagged two goals and an assist against both United and West Ham before finishing the month off with a solitary assist against Burnley. The most complete forward on the planet right now.
