Player Ratings - Arsenal (h)

Last updated : 21 February 2004 By Liam Corbett
Neil Sullivan - Well, what the hell was he thinking for the seocnd goal. Did he see someone he knew and wave at them? Just what went on in his head is a mystery. 4

Mario Melchiot - Lack of concentration sometimes and offered little going forward and nothing at the back. Tried to do too much sometimes. 5

William Gallas - Got team mates out of jail a number of times with his pace. Nothing fancy but a solid performance. Caught out of position for their first goal badly. 6

John Terry - Showed a lapse in concentration when he lost his cool and got himself booked. Now suspended. Otherwise played quite well, when tested, and won everything in the air. 6

Wayne Bridge - Was put under a lot of pressure and defended reasonably well. Not so great going forward, but when he got advanced, his crossing was off target today. 6

Scott Parker - Played well and got stuck in, did however leave Melchiot exposed a bit on the right as he drifted in. Substitued for Jesper Gronkjaer after the sending off. Enjoyed his battle with Vieria. 6

Frank Lampard - Not his usual self. Needs a break, along with Makelele. Got involved in the mix up and got booked late on for a mis timed tackle. 6

Claude Makelele - Shocking. Can't shoot. Can't tackle at the moment and his passing was erratic. Seems to have lsot his early season form. Could be dropped if he carries on, and play Parker in field where he should be. 5

Geremi - Good cross for the goal and delivered the only decent dead ball all day. Did very well considering he is by no means left footed or a left winger! 7

Adrian Mutu - Drifted deep and out wide to get the ball. Nice touch for the goal, although he was probably going for goal! Why was he taken off when we needed a goal with 10 men? God only knows. Ran his heart out but can somebody please tell him those in blue are on his team, and its alright to pass to them! Tries to do too much. 6

Eidur Gudjohnsen - Took his goal very nicely, considering it was so early on and his first touch. Outragous dive that deserved the booking he got. Unlucky to be sent off, but if he hadn't have dived he would've stayed on. Silly boy. Now Mutu suspended coming up, Crespo out with a 'high temperature.' Should not resort to the low levels of Arsenal, with thier diving. 4 (Mainly cos of the dive)
