CSKA Moscow 0-1 Chelsea

In tough conditions, Chelsea stood up in the face of adversity and got a deserved victory.

CSKA made a fairly bright start, allowing Chelsea little possesion in the early goings. But gradually, Damien Duff and Arjen Robben were seeing more of the ball and our play was much improved.

And the two wingers linked up sublimely to give Chelsea the lead. Robben nipped the ball through for Duff, who's fantastic back heel found Robben again. The Dutchman then faked a shot to the far corner, beating his man in the process, before cheekily knocking the ball in the opposite corner!

A professional rear guard action allowed us to limit CSKA to very few chances, although Glen Johnson handed them the perfect lifeline just a minute into the second period.

He allowed his man to get goal side and, rather than staying on his feet and allowing his fellow defenders to clear up, Jonno hacked his man down in the box. Penalty!

Unfortunately for CSKA's Brazilian star Love, they are still looking for the ball now!

Petr Cech was called into serious action on no more than two occasions, with John Terry and Ricardo Carvalho performing admirably!

And to make the night even better, Arsenal stuttered once more on the European stage, making our success all the sweeter...
